INTERNATIONAL ACTING EXPERIENCE!! RICHARD BERKELEY

Richard Berkeley is an Anglo-Pole who has been living in Warsaw for ten years. He trained as a musician at London University Goldsmiths College specialising in music education (BEd) and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama as a singer. He co-founded Baroque and Classical orchestras in Britain (Meridian Chamber Orchestra) Italy (Europa Galante, Concerto Italiano) and Poland (Nowa Orkiestra Kameralna) whilst pursuing a singing career. He has worked as a producer, presenter and writer for BBC Television, RAI TV and radio and TVP (Pegaz) and as an advertising copy-writer for many commercials. He has taught at all the major London drama academies, including the Mountview Conservatoire for Performing Arts and the London Academy of Dramatic Art (LAMDA). He founded the International Course for Music Theatre Performers at the Royal Academy of Music. He has taught at the Akademia Tealtralna Warsaw and the Akademia Musyczna Fr. Chopina Warszawa. As a volunteer, he is holding a music drama course at the Poniatowski Gymnasium, Srodmiescie. He has written a number of musical for children in English and Italian and two musicals for Polish children: “Nowy Szaty Cesarza” published by EMPIK and Polskie Radio and “Mlody Chopin” a musical for use in schools for the Chopin year and supported by the NIFC.

He holds a communications course at BRAMA, a department in the Warsaw University of Technology and, as part of the Top Hat Studio communications programme, has held workshops at SGH, Kozminski and Warsaw Universities.

He has twice presented talks for TEDx in Warsaw and Krakow.

He is Prezes of Fundacja Nowa Orkiestra Kameralna, concentrating on using music as a means of developing a civil society in Poland. He is also a consultant/trainer at top executive level to leading companies in Poland and elsewhere. His clients include Kraft, Unilever, GE, BPP, BPH Bank, Citibank, Avon, Deloitte, and PwC. His work was cited in the “Go Global!” Raport o Innowacyjnosci 2011 prepared by madra-polska(dot)pl for the Polish Chamber of Commerce.

In 2009, he advertised Warsaw on BBC World TV.
